Upgrade from Version 7

This page describes the special steps required when upgrading from Version 7 to the latest version of SEI. The process includes updating Central Point configuration and adapting legacy dashboards to the new interface.

Configure the Central Point

  1. Connect to Central Point using the Web Central Point Configurator.
  2. In the License Data Source panel, enter the correct license database information.
  3. Click Validate data source, then select Update configuration to save your changes.

Upgrade dashbaords

Dashboards introduced in version 9.0 and later provide greater performance and functionality. Central Point will convert most dashboards automatically, but tile positions may sometimes become disordered or elements may be hidden after the upgrade.

If you notice tiles are misplaced or missing, follow these steps to correct your dashboards:

  1. Select Dashbaord from the navigation panel in SEI.
  2. Open the affected dashboard.
  3. Press F12 in Google Chrome (or use your browser's developer tools) and go to the Elements tab.
  4. Use Ctrl+F to search for designer grid-stack. Expand its content.
  5. Locate all dashboard element <div> tags with data-gs-x or data-gs-y attribtues.
For each, find any value grater than 11.
  6. Change values greater than 11 to 0. (In Chrome, double-click the value to edit.)
  7. Close the Developer Tools by clicking the X in the top right.
  8. In the Toolbar panel, select Edit Dashboard.
  9. Reposition any dashboard elements that are now overlapping or superimposed.
  10. When you are satisfied with the dashboard layout, save your changes.
