Account Grouping

Account groupings are used for calculating KPIs, creating financial statements, and building custom reports. Groupings defined in Sage X3 are automatically imported during template installation, but you can also create or edit account groupings directly in SEI to match your specific reporting needs.

Benefits of grouping accounts

  • Customizing reporting structures: Create report categories that differ from standard Sage X3 groupings.
  • Integrating new or changed accounts: Update groupings when your chart of accounts changes or when new account ranges are added.

Create an account grouping

  1. Log in to SEI.
  2. In the navigation panel, select Data Models and Views.
  3. Expand Sage X3, then Common Data and Configuration.
  4. Right-click the Reporting Groups data model and select Execute Info Pages.
  5. In the Charts of Accounts field, click the prompt icon and select the code for which you want to generate an account grouping.
  6. Click Confirm.
  7. Click Generate to complete.
The generated list is inserted in the Account Setup view.

Define accounts for the grouping

  1. In the navigation panel, expand the Report Account Mapping data model.
  2. Open the Account Setup view.
  3. Fill in the Account column with the accounts to include.

Use commas and colons together to separate lists and intervals, such as 12100,12250:12260,12300.

Refresh reporting codes from Sage X3

Reporting Codes from Sage X3 are imported automatically during template installation. If you make changes to reporting codes in Sage X3, you must manually refresh them in SEI to ensure your models stay current.

  1. In the navigation panel, expand Sage X3, then Common Data and Configuration.
  2. Right-click the Reporting Codes data model and select Execute Info Pages.
  3. Under Import Account Grouping from ERP, click Import.
note

Importing new account groupings does not delete any groupings you have already created.
