Historical Chart
A historical chart shows trends and patterns over time using a main chart and an interactive navigator. This chart type is ideal for exploring long time series, detecting anomalies, and focusing on specific time periods within your business data.

- Sales performance over years: Explore year-over-year trends and seasonal changes in sales.
- Inventory over time: Track stock levels to detect shortages, surpluses, or usage trends.
Create a historical chart
- Select Data Models and Views from the navigation panel.
- Right-click the data model you want to use and select New View from the context menu.
- In the Select a View dialog, select Historical Chart from the Combination category.
- Enter a Name for the view. To assign names in other languages, select the translation icon next to the text box.
- Select the fields you want to include for each section.
- (Optional) Toggle Sample Mode to preview the data using a sample dataset.
- Click Confirm. The new view opens with your initial settings.
- Customize the view by using the view organizer, content area, and Toolbar.
- In the Toolbar panel, select Save or Save As to save your changes.

| Name | Enter a descriptive name for the worksheet. Select the translation icon to add labels for different languages—ideal for multilingual environments. |
| Sample Mode | Enable to open the worksheet in sample mode. |
| Choose the Date-time field | Select the field that represents the date or time for each data point in the chart. |
| Navigator values are based on | Choose the field used to display values in the navigator (overview) chart for filtering and zooming. |
| Chart values are based on | Select the field that provides the main data values displayed over time. |
