Gauges

Gauges are visual indicators that show a single value within a defined range. They make it easy to monitor progress toward a target or evaluate a metric against predefined thresholds. In business intelligence, gauges are often used on dashboards or summaries to assess KPIs, goals, or operational status at a glance. Gauges use color-coded zones to indicate whether a value is in an acceptable, warning, or critical range—supporting fast, real-time decisions.

Example use cases

example
  • Quota achievement: Display sales or production progress toward a monthly or quarterly target.
  • Capacity utilization: Monitor how much of your available inventory, resources, or system capacity is currently used.
