Pies, Doughnuts, and Funnels
Pie, doughnut, and funnel charts are commonly used to visualize proportions and process flows in business data. Pie and doughnut charts represent categories as parts of a whole, helping you compare contributions at a glance—such as sales by region or product mix.
Funnel charts show data moving through sequential stages—such as in a sales pipeline or lead conversion process. Each segment represents the count or value at a stage, helping you identify drop-off points and analyze process efficiency.
Use these charts to highlight breakdowns, bottlenecks, and category shares so stakeholders can quickly spot differences and act on trends.
Example use cases
example
- Market share by region: Use a pie or doughnut chart to show each region’s contribution to total sales.
- Lead conversion funnel: Use a funnel chart to show how leads move through each stage of a sales pipeline.
- Expense allocation: Compare how cost categories contribute to your overall budget.
