Data Models and Views

Data Models and Views is the first tab in the Navigation Panel. It displays the list of data models you have access to, along with their associated views. The content of this tab may vary depending on the authorizations assigned to you.

Data Models

A data model is a simplified, visual way to organize and understand your business data. It shows what data is available, how it’s connected, and how you can use it—without requiring technical knowledge or database expertise. You will only see the Data Models that you are authorized to access. Each model can be expanded to display its available Views. In short, a Data Model takes the complexity out of data and gives you the tools to turn information into insight.

Benefits of using Data Models

  • Explore the data that matters: Access key information easily for faster decision-making.
  • Create consistent visualizations: Ensure consistent and accurate visualizations by relying on centrally managed, reliable data.
  • Analyze data by drilling down, filtering, or grouping: Discover trends and insights easily.
  • Rely on predefined custom relationships and calculations: Save time and maintain consistency.
  • Standardize data and calculations: Ensure that both the data and the calculations are uniform across teams, providing consistent results and insights.

Before you can use a Data Model, you may need to execute specific dialogs to retrieve the required data for your visualizations. These dialogs include:

To get started, create a new view from an existing Data Model.
